Dynamic Singapore?

I've been living in Singapore for almost 23 years now. I can say Singapore is very dynamic in terms of lifestyle but not fashion. I can safely say this because just by jumping across the border and up to K.L, it’s so obvious that the people in K.L are much more fashionable. I'm not talking about who dresses up like who. But looking at Singaporeans, we all wear almost alike. Whose the fashion mentor? Hollywood artists. Who else? Are we not creative enough to be a trendsetter? An obvious evidence that Singaporeans are too influenced by the media. Just look at how fashionable Japanese are. So stop following others lah!! Don't be copy cats. Go make your own jeans and t-shirts at my sister’s shop :-

Starting from 1st July, smoking will be ban at Hawker Centres. Some clubs already banned smoking. Soon, you can't even smoke in all clubs. I know for smokers, they will think it’s all another bullshit from the government. I'm not complaining but I don't understand why don't they just ban cigarettes? That’s the best way for a smokeless Singapore isn't it? I hate it when they give all this bullshits that you can't smoke here and you can't smoke there but still they don't discourage the sales of cigarette. What’s the point really? If they want to make money out of cigarette and they are making alot of money out of cigarette taxations, those money they profit from are smokers money!! If smokers give you money, you treat them nice!! Understand? I'm seriously not complaining. It doesn't matter if I smoke or not but my point is, what they're doing is unfair. Just ban the fucking cigarettes lah!!

Oh wait… Maybe they don't want to ban the cigarettes because smoking tourists might not want to come here. If that’s the case, looks like they don't want Singaporeans to smoke but they don't want to stop tourists from coming and so banning cigarettes in Singapore will not help Singapore’s economics.

Ok, enough about the stupid law on cigarettes, I did mention something about the dynamic lifestyle in Singapore. Back when I was still in Primary school, gangsterism was the 'in’ thing for us. Almost everyone wants to become infamous. They think it’s cool. But I wasn't involve with them. I smartly make friends with them without getting involve in their illegal activities so that I don't have to risk myself, yet I still have some backup if I'm in trouble. Somehow with alot of arrests for selling pirated VCDs, porn videos and drugs, those people kinda lay low. Now I realised most of those 'gangsters’ I knew back then have signed up for Singapore idol or other talent searching program. It’s weird to know this.

Being in a tiny multi-racial country, there’s been alot of evolution in terms of looks. A few decades back, chinese looks like chinese, malay looks like malay and indian looks like indian. Now there’s chinese that looks like malay, malay that looks like chinese or indian and indians that looks like malay. That’s not all. Chinese now have double eyelids and sharper nose. Malay and indians have fairer skin. There is a study, if you hangout with good looking people too much, you're just gonna look like them. And vise versa. So, if you see a husband and wife of 20yrs complement each other, it’s because their looks evolve for one another. Also, I find that my juniors are taller than me and I'm taller than my seniors. It’s like the later you're born, the taller you'll become. But… Go malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand or even Philipine and you'll find that Singaporeans are taller. I guess with our standards of living are higher, we tends to have a more healthy diet and therefore healthier people.

Thanks for reading. Oh yeah… I know whatever I said might be controversial, but who gives a fuck. It’s just a rambling. And hail to freespeech!!
